What is the New Jersey Festival of Ballooning?

The New Jersey Festival of Ballooning is the largest summertime hot air balloon and music festival in North America and is the premiere family entertainment attraction in New Jersey.  It holds the dual distinction of being a recipient of The New Jersey Governor's Award for Best Special Event, as well as being designated, for the 6th time, as a Top 100 Festival in North America by the American Bus Association.

Held annually at Solberg Airport in Readington, NJ, the festival truly has something for everyone!  From twice daily mass ascensions of up to 100 special shape and sport hot air balloons, to headlining concerts, non-stop family entertainment, hundreds of crafters and vendors, great food, fireworks, a balloon glow, and more, the festival is jam-packed with stuff to do.

PLANNING AHEAD – WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW BEFORE YOU COME TO THE FESTIVAL!

Plan on arriving early, as we approach our evening ascensions, the roadways around the festival will become more congested. We recommend coming as early as possible to avoid the traffic.

Backpacks, bags and personal items are subject to inspection by Security before you enter the Festival grounds. As with any major event, safety and security are a primary concern and the Festival continues to work closely with security and law enforcement at all levels.

Pack only the basic essentials and leave valuable items at home. Drone, coolers, outside food and beverages are not permitted into the festival. Our concession stands offer a wide range of fresh food and beverage options.

Wear comfortable, light-colored clothing and comfortable shoes. Bring sunscreen and wear UV protective sunglasses. Baseball caps and wide-brimmed hats are recommended to protect your eyes and head from the summer sun. Come early, the morning mass ascensions are beautiful, and the weather is also cooler earlier in the day.

No pets are allowed into the festival, only guide dogs and service animals are permitted into the festival.

The Kids' and Pop/Internet Sensation Concerts do not include access to the VIP Blue Sky Club nor VIP Parking.
