Weathers Great, Wish You Were Here
August 28, 2007
As more than 145,000 people found out first hand, the weather outside your door may be frightful but the weather in Readington is so delightful.
Because Solberg Airport is located in a valley between the Round Valley Reservoir and the Delaware River, the weather is different here than the surrounding area. So we were able to enjoy blue skies and dry weather for the greater part of entire Festival weekend … feelings shared by the TV morning shows and their weathercasters who broadcast live from the Balloon Launch Field … and which allowed us to enjoy 100% balloon activity through 7 scheduled mass ascensions beginning with our media preview Thursday night through Sunday night’s closing launch.
All of our scheduled events went on with minor adjustments such as moving the Bridgewater Marriott Fireworks Extravaganza from Friday to Saturday, our way of saying thanks to our patrons, and Creedence delaying the start of their show by an hour on Sunday afternoon.
The best gauge of the weather is to call the Festival during the weekend at 1-800-HOT-AIR-9 to get the latest info.
