Record Set At 2nd Sub Eating Qualifier!

Christian “Musc Ox” McCarthy of Lagrange, KY set a new world record by consuming 6 1/8 fully loaded 6-inch submarine sandwiches in 10 minutes at the 2nd annual Quick Chek Original Toasted Italian Sub Eating Contest in Hazlet, NJ on June 22. McCarthy edged out newcomer Lew “The Chew” Porchizzo of Colonia, NJ (who ate 5 1/2 subs) and Chris Curto of Rochester, NH (who downed 4 1/2) and six other contestants in the second qualifying contest to advance to the sub eating championships at the 24th annual Quick Chek New Jersey Festival of Ballooning on Saturday, July 29 at 3:00 p.m.The third and final qualifier is Thursday, July 13 at 3:00 p.m. at the Quick Chek location at 361 Union Avenue in Bridgewater. Contestants may enter on this website.
