Balloon Festival Announces Progressive Concert Lineup

Pop Star Andy Grammer Launches Concert Series 

 

READINGTON, NJ — There will be music in the air, too, when the 36th annual QuickChek New Jersey Festival of Ballooning in Association with PNC Bank takes flight this summer.

 

While the 100 sport and special shaped hot air balloons are the true stars, the Festival’s live concerts continue to soar in popularity. Pop star Andy Grammer launches the concert series on the Progressive Insurance® Stage during the three-day Festival, July 27-28-29, 2018 at Solberg Airport in Readington, NJ.

 

New this year is Concert Chalets, which are ideal for entertaining friends and clients. Similar to stadium suite boxes or golf tournament VIP tents, the Concert Chalets provide great covered, premium seating for concerts in a private, reserved 10-foot-by-10-foot shaded tent facing the Progressive Stage. 

 

The chalets offer a combination of indoor and outdoor seating for up to 15 guests, a variety of catered food and beverage options (including wine) delivered right to your chalet, daylong access to a separate VIP Blue Sky Club Tent with executive air conditioned restrooms, and prime viewing of the hot air balloon ascensions in the VIP Blue Sky Club Tent adjacent to the Balloon Launch Field.

 

“We pride ourselves in continuing to meet the musical needs of our audience to ensure their Festival experience is an enjoyable one,” said Festival Executive Producer Howard Freeman. “It’s one of the first questions people ask: “Who’s performing this year?’ Attendees can look forward to concerts Friday afternoon and Friday night, Saturday night, and Sunday afternoon. It’s a great lineup with something for everyone.”

 

Presented by PNC Bank in association with Magic 98.3 FM, multi-platinum selling pop star Andy Grammer (“Fine By Me,” “Honey, I’m Good”) performs Friday night, July 27, following the first public mass hot air balloon ascension. A fireworks extravaganza will light up the night sky immediately following the concert.

 

The New Jersey Lottery presents legendary alternative rock band Lifehouse (“Hanging By a Moment”) Saturday night, July 28, in conjunction with the Festival’s nighttime hot air balloon glow.

 

Creedence Clearwater Revisited rocks their timeless hits (“Proud Mary,” “Bad Moon Rising,” “Travelin’ Band,” “Looking Out My Back Door,” “Who’ll Stop the Rain,” “Down on the Corner,” and “Up Around the Bend”) on Sunday afternoon, July 29, at 3:00 p.m. in association with WCBS-FM 101.1.

 

Best-selling children’s recording artist and preschool television favorite Laurie Berkner of Princeton will perform a concert presented by Hackensack Meridian Health for children ages 2-8 on Friday afternoon, July 28 at 1:30 p.m.

While at the Progressive Base Camp, Festival-goers can race the clock in a virtual reality boat race, and satisfy their wanderlust by stepping into the Progressive Photo Booth to get a picture at a bucket list destination of choice. All guests of the Progressive Base Camp will also have an opportunity to take home an outdoor-themed prize. 

 

The 36th annual QuickChek New Jersey Festival of Ballooning in Association with PNC Bank is the largest summertime hot air balloon and music festival in North America. The three-day Festival features twice a day mass ascensions of 100 hot air balloons from around the world, a live concert series, fireworks, a nighttime hot air balloon glow, children’s amusement rides and family entertainment and attractions.
